PickleballPaddleScore is an independent review site. Played tennis through college, picked up pickleball in 2019, and now coaches at a club with 400 members. Has demoed 60+ paddles in 5 years and keeps a log of spin rate, sweet spot size, and how each paddle holds up after 3 months of doubles play. His club juniors and the 70-and-over league give him feedback from both ends of the speed spectrum.

Who's Behind This

Coach Ray, based in Naples, Florida, has been testing pickleball paddles for years. Every review on this site comes from hands-on time with the actual product — not spec sheets.

What We Believe

• The paddle market is 90% marketing and 10% graphite. Most players would improve more from lessons than from a $250 paddle.
• Thermoformed vs non-thermoformed is the only real technology story in the last 3 years.
• Sweet spot size beats raw power for 9 out of 10 players. You don't need power you can't control.
• Core density numbers mean nothing without the same player swinging both paddles.
